Here we offer the extremely scarce stated 11th edition ofA Christmas Carol In Prose. Being a Story of Christmas,by Charles Dickens and published by Bradbury and Evans in 1846. This is the original form, with Dickens\' original specifications:decoratively blindstamped and gilt casing; all edges gilt (to keep dust out); and four hand-colored John Leech plates, four in black and white. This is the Bradbury and Evans edition, which corrected the salmon brown boards to a more cheerful red color of cloth.

Book isin very good condition with a flap of cloth reapplied to the lower spine by a professional acid-free process with a split still showing on the left lower edge of the spine (though it is quite secure;) a piece of binder’s tissue covers the endpaper split at the front gutter, (though the binding there is tight and secure without it;) there are a few fingerprints, a period inscription, and some mild foxing; the acid-free tissue over the frontispiece is a replacement; original boards and tanned spine are bumped and worn in places (please see pics;) rear endpaper is intact; binding is tight and square; text is bright and crisp. 166 pages with 2 pages of ads. Measures approximately 4.5 x 6.5-inches.
