Korea, Joseon dynasty, 19thcentury.
It’s a rare octagonal shape box and a lid incised with Swastika (만자 [卍字] and
yin-yang (음양 [Yin-yang,陰陽] designs in medallion, and with metal hinges around the corners,
with brown wood stainon the surfaces
and patina, the insides of the box and lid covered withpatinated black stain.
It’s in finecondition, measures approximately 13” x 5.5” x 13” (33 cm x 14cm x 33 cm)
