<img sale today we have this Exceptional Wedgwood \"Marsden Ware\" Stoneware Vase. A very rare piece, the vase is of baluster form glazed to a sandy/ ochre ground. Beautifully slip trail decorated with a bold and elaborate swirling foliate design between japonaise style \"fish scale\" and floral borders. Coloured to varied browns, greens and creams, the designer (George A Marsden) has managed to create an absolutely stunning design from what is essentially a fairly muted palette. Stands 10\" tall x 5\" dia, and stamped to the base \"Wedgwood\", incised model no S258.
In outstanding condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs whatsoever. This is the first of these pieces that it\'s been my good fortune to own and I have to say, I\'m very impressed indeed. A wonderful piece for the discerning collector!
