A.J. Foytr #79 leads a pack of USAC midget rivals at the dirt half mile at Terre Haute October 6, 1957. A.J. was just breaking into the \"big leagues\" when this photo was taken and would run his first Indy 500 the following year. Trailing Foyt are open wheel stalwarts Van Johnson #52, Don Branson #7 and probably Paul Howe in #27. This is a professional quality, crisp, clear color 8x10 photograph printed from the slide in John Mahoney\'s collection. Quality is excellent, especially considering that the slide is more than 50 years old! “Copyright” appears only on the description photo.
