A Lovely 15ct Gold Brooch set with Trio of Diamonds Approximately 0.3 Carats:

On offer is a really lovely, and special, 15ct Gold bar brooch set with a trilogy of colet-set Diamonds. The piece does not carry a full set of hallmarks but is clearly stamped 15ct , together with CS * FS for the renowned jewellers Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings Shepherd. The style of the star and of the initials of the hallmark shows that it was Assayed between 1901 and 1908.Saundersd & Shepherd started their jewellery business in the late 1860\'s and are still in existence today. They were actually commissioned to make The Princess of Wales Diana Spencer’s 20th birthday present, a gold bracelet, which she wore on her wedding day.
Although not as spectacular as Diana\'s bracelet, this is still a lovely piece that was exquisitely made. The three Old Mine Cut Diamonds are each approximately 10 points (total 0.3 carat), and set on an approx 1.25mm platinum fronted bar which is approximately 58mm wide. It weighs approximately 3.04g.It is presented in what was probably its original green velver clad box, showing that it was retailed by Williamsons in Rochdale.If you have any questions then please do feel free to ask.
