On offer is a delightful mid Victorian 12 Ct gold brooch, most probably a mourning brooch, set with what I believe may be black onyx stones. I do not believe that they are polished jet as they seem to be far too cold to the touch.There is some slight pitting to the central stone please see photos), but these are only just noticeable to the naked eye, otherwise the brooch is in very nice condition.There are no markings, but the brooch does consistently test for being 12 ct gold (see photos). The securing pin, however, is not gold and probably silver or a base metal.The pin functions perfectly.It measures approximately 29 mm wide and weighs 4.98g.If you have any questions then please do feel free to ask.
