Description

A VERY NICE MID 19TH CENTURY SPONGEWARE OR SPATTERWARE WASTE BOWL IN VIBRANT BLUE AND WHITE.

Staffordshire Softpaste Spatterware, early 19th century, C1820-1840.

THIS BOWL IS IN GREAT CONDITION WITH NO CRACKS OR LOSSES AT ALL, JUST SOME MINOR RIM AND LIP ROUGHNESS, (see photos).

It is unmarked on the bottom but is the usual clay and glaze one associates with Early English Spatterware pottery of the early 19th century coming from the Staffordshire region.

Very early form and style.

5 1/2\" at the top, 3\" at the base, it is 3 1/2\" tall.

Typical wear and imperfections with age.
