This beautiful, french cabinet sized doll is one for any collection. How to describe her gorgeous, pale bisque and vivid blue eyes? She is a very lovely example of the french dolls made during the SFBJ era and is incised as follows/Fabrication Francaise/Limoges/France/J.B./7. Her front throat is also incised with the number 7 as well;see picture. Her darling, expressive face is again very pale, with the lightest of rose blush to the cheeks. She has the most amazing, huge expressive eyes, dark blue, with the longest upper and lower painted eyelashes and beautifully painted eyebrows. Her petite, open mouth reveals six upper teeth. The bisque is without fault, except for one tiny black spot to the underside of the right chin-not at all detracting. There are no cracks or hairlines in her gorgeous head. Her lovely head is mounted on the original french, unmarked body. It is quite sturdy and has the typical flaking on hands and wear to the fronts of both feet. The body is also typically chunky, as are the upper arms. There is also some loss of paint to the neck rim in back and around the shoulders, showing the original composition beneath. She is pretty well strung and holds a good pose. Her antique clothing is really scrumptious, yet somewhat simple at the same time. She wears a beautifully fitting and most likely original, off white cotton long dress with gorgeous insertion lace to bodice, mid skirt and hemline. There is also lace to the hems of sleeves. There are a few small areas of lace separation near the hem and two later snaps added for closure to the back. The dress also has an attached slip, under which she is wearing a stunning cotton and eyelet antique slip and to follow the most delicious little one piece romper style antique underwear, with all button closures, including the crotch. They are simply darling and not easy to find. This french beauty has the good fortune of owning original, clean open weave white socks and brown leather shoes with wonderful matching metal rosettes, incised on soles the number 7 (obviously hers, to match her size) and the word \"Rousseau\" in script.They are in good condition. Her wig is a dark, antique blonde in unruly ringlets-a little taming and talented hands will do wonders with these. The petite Miss finishes off with a newer, but vintage french turquoise and cream satin and lace trimmed bonnet. It is a most perfect fit. In her pierced ears, there are simple triple drop earrings. This doll is really perfect for any collection, or for the person yearning for her first french doll. She is delightful, with a face that is sure to captivate.
