AN EXTREMELY RARE LATE 18TH OR EARLY 19TH CENTURY AMERICAN MINIATURE BLANKET OR STORAGE CHEST IN THE ABSOLUTE BEST ORIGINAL AND GRUNGY APPLE GREEN PAINTED SURFACE AND PATINA. IT HAS A WONDERFUL APPLIED MOLDED TOP MOLDING AND AN ATTACHED BRACKET BASE.
IT STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL BRASS HINGES AND LOCK AND NEARLY ALL OF ITS ORIGINAL HAND WROUGHT NAILS.
NEW ENGLAND, CIRCA 1790-1810 IN NATIVE AMERICAN EasterN WHITE PINE.

THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE SURVIVOR. NOT MANY 18TH CENTURY MINIATURE BLANKET CHESTS WERE MADE AND EVEN FEWER OF THEM HAVE SURVIVED ESPECIALLY IN ITS ORIGINAL PAINTED SURFACE.

THE APPLE GREEN PAINT IS WONDERFUL WITH THE BEST OLD GRUNGY PATINA AND SURFACE QUALITY.

It exhibits only the typical wear and tear you would see from nearly 300 years of use as I have shown in the photos.
Both side brackets of the feet are modern replacements, (see photos). The front bracket is all original.
