A Superb George 111 Solid Silver, Fiddle Pattern, Dessert Spoon, by Thomas Northcote. Assay Hallmarked, London1796.
This is an excellent example of a Georgian spoon, in virtually mint condition, with minimal wear, considering it is 222 year old, with nice clear hallmarking, and no monogram on the stem. It would make a nice collectors item, or a great wedding or christening present, or as gift for someone special. The spoon is 14cm (5-1/2\") in length, and the silver weight is 17.6g.
This spoon is described as dessert or pudding spoon as that is what they were termed in the day, unlike our modern larger versions, so please refer to the dimensions given, this is not teaspoon, they were smaller.(4\")
This is a fixed priced sale, so no stressful finger biting sales to go through, just one click to buy with ease.
PS Silver is very difficult tophotograph because it\'s reflection picks up the photographer, hence any tinging. Also, these items are not new, most are over 100 years old, some 200 and over, so will have some defects, unless they had a charmed life.
