A RAREANTIQUE Tiffany & Co. d\'Ore Bronze Thistle Chalice, dated 1907

Gilt bronze chalice with circular foot, tapering conical stem, thistle shaped bowl. Platform and stem with cast, swirling thistle leaves; bowl ornamented with thistle leaves on lower section, the upper section in imitation of thistle pod. Cast in letters around base rim: THE ENGINEERS CLUB: DECEMBER 9th: 1907.
Commissioned by Andrew Carnegie for the December 1907 opening of the new clubhouse built by the Engineers Club, 32 West 40th Street, New York.
