An outstanding English brass seamed candlestick comprising a beautiful, chunky, lobed base with a triple-knopped stem andinverted bell-shaped sconce, circa 1740 - 1760.

We have been fortunate recently to have had a run of fantastic quality English brass seamed candlesticks and this one

continues that trend!It isa beautiful looking stick 6 3/4 inches tall and 4 1/8 inches across the base. The design is quite unusual with a chunky-brass lobed base and anelegant stem with three knops enabling fingers and thumb to be coiled around them toprevent an accident with the slippery,wax-covered stem. The sconce is like a beautiful inverted bell.

The stick is of fine seamed construction and made of a gorgeous, buttery-yellow metal. There are no damages and the stick is infine original condition, just about as good as you can get. The base is neatly turned out on a lathe to remove surplus unsightlysurface metal remaining from the casting process. A great display item or addition to your specialist dealer’s inventory.
