Korea, Joseon Period, 19th Century, with an original lock (Its key missing)
This small wood coin chest is very heavy hard wood made, and unusually
the chest was not used hinges for its joints at all, was just used wood cut lock-in joints,
and it has also beautiful wood grains and old natural patina all over the surfaces.
It is rectangular form, fitted with thin iron mounts and circular lockplate
with hasp, and with an original lock (key missing).
It’s in very good condition.
and measures 27cm H. x 27cm d. x 51 cm w.
