This Victorian Tunbridge Ware type inlaid box i think dates to around 1870 , the box has walnut veneered surfaces that has nice grain and colour as seen in the photos, there are inlaid bands of mosaic inlay of different woods that gives a great effect , there are diamond shaped inlaid inserts to the lid and front of the box , inside there is a lock but no top part and no key , the box has some of its original linings but in quite poorly condition so would benefit from being replaced , there is a lift out section that that has been slightly altered , the box could be used for a multitude of uses, the box measures 10.75 x 7.75 x 5 inches , , a piece of veneer off the bottom of each side , a shrinkage crack on the side , there are a few other small knocks to the veneer and general minor wear and tear with age ,with a little work this would be a great box
