The Cobra black sanded released in 1988. This ball was years ahead of its time and so was the ball reaction you got with this ball. Nothing strikes like a COBRA! Later released in a pearl version called the GUNSMOKE COBRA.

The pin on the 15 and 16 lb balls was directly under the COBRA label, and the pin on the 14lb (and below) was on the bottom of the ball.

Cobra was released for the fall tour in 1989, made famous by Jim Pencak. First ball to be produced with a colored pin (orange) that matched the orange logo fill. The reason for the highlighting the pin was due to the first batch of balls being built upside down with the pin hard to find. The light bulb core had pin hole drilled in the bottom of the bulb, instead of in the neck, thus locating the top of the weight block on the bottom of the ball.
