An old order Amish quilt from Lancaster County Pennsylvania. Notes on this quilt state it comes from Lydia Ebersol, Red Hill Road, possibly made by her paternal grandmother. Earthy colors in solid green, salmon and other (some color lift so it\'s hard to tell). It has such a pleasing calm feeling. Hand quilting consists of feather wreaths, cable and grid patterns. One that was used by an Amish family in their daily life.

A piece of folk art that is part of a large collection of Amish Mennonite quilts that we have the honor of offering for the first time to the quilt market. Many of these rare to find examples and patterns can only be found in collections.

During the 1970s, which was the start of the big boom of Amish Mennonite quilt collecting, examples like this were added to private collections. During this almost 50 year time period most of the quilts were gathered and sold to museums, collected and published. Many books were also written about them. How the simple people made works of art using just solid colors. They created folk art with an amazing visual. Now you have a wonderful opportunity to add them to your collection.

Hand quilted 12-14 stitches per inch.

The batting is thin.

Has age/other spotting tanning, color lift, some holes, dye migration to back, mend.
