A FANTASTIC 18TH CENTURY CONNECTICUT COUNTRY CHIPPENDALE SIDE CHAIR WITH THE BEST \"EYE AND HEART\" CARVED CENTER SPLAT, CARVED EARS AND GREAT BEADED LEGS AND STRETCHERS, CHERRY AND POPLAR, HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT, CIRCA 1770-1785, IN ITS ORIGINAL GRUNGY BLACK PAINT AND STILL RETAINING ITS ORIGINAL RUSH SEAT WHICH RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL CONTRASTING IVORY PAINT.

FANTASTIC EXAMPLE OF A COUNTY CHIPPENDALE CHAIR FROM HARTFORD, CT.
THE PAINT IS GRUNGY AND WELL OXIDIZED.

IT HAS A CARVED AND SCROLLED TOP CREST WITH FULLY DEVELOPED EARS.

THE GOTHIC STYLE CENTER SPLAT HAS A VERY DISTINCTIVE HARTFORD, CT AREA \"EYE AND HEART\" DESIGN.

THE LEGS ARE SQUARE WITH WONDERFUL FULL WIDTH BEADING. THE ORIGINAL STRETCHERS ARE FULLY INTACT AND ALSO BEADED.

THE ORIGINAL RUSH SEAT IN IS FINE CONDITION AND RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL CONTRASTING IVORY WHITE PAINT.

This great chair stands 39 1/2\" tall. The seat height is 17 1/2\" at the rail and is 20\" across.
