I found this elegant vintage light sconce at an estate sale I attended at a \'maison bourgeoise\' here in the Perche region of Normandie. It is one of three, and I\'m currently listing the other two as a pair.

Worked in heavy, crisply cast gilt bronze, this is a quality piece.

It carries two lights. The arms feature a pretty design of scrolls & acanthus leaves, and are adorned with beautiful crystal pampille drops and rosettes.

The pure crystal drops are skillfully cut and faceted, so that when the prisms catch the light the effect is simply stunning.

The solid backplate carries the classic French acanthus & scroll motifs, and there is a ring behind for fixing to the wall.

Ornately detailed bobeches hold the lights, which come complete with their faux candle sleeves.

In very good general condition, but please note that the faux-candle sleeves show some deterioration commensurate with age and normal use.

Whether mounted as a wall-light or simply used in your displays, this charming piece is sure to bring an authentic touch of French chic to your interior !

As always with vintage electrical appliances, this should be checked over by a competent electrician as it is still fitted with its original wiring. Two narrow screw candle bulbs will be required (bulbs not included in this listing).
