We are offering anAntique Don Caesar Ansonia Clock Company Bronze Mantle Clock c.1894 for sale!!!

This bronze figuralmantle clock features a 17\" high bronze statueof Don Caesaron a 19\" x 9\" x 4\" ebonised metal base. The total dimensions of the clock are approximately 21\" x 19\" x 4\".

The base features a scrolled design carved into the front and sits upon (2) metal lion heads scrolled feet.

Don Caesar is fully suited from the (2) plumes in his hat down to the spurs on his thigh-high boots. He is holdinghis sword in his right hand , which might be a replacement. .

The clockhas a4½\" diameter, two piece, white porcelain dial with an open escapement, black Roman numeral markers, beautifulornate gold tonehands,and a beveled glasscover.It hasan eight day spring driven time and strike mantel clock that also strikes on the half hour.

The bronze clock features an ornate design including an urn finial on top & rocco sashes on either side.

The movement is marked, \"Ansonia Clock Co., Patented June 14.81, New York, USA, Patented June 12, 1882.\" The inside of the back cover is unhinged &has a watchmaker\'s marking from May 1970.

This clock is in ORIGINAL condition, with the possible exception of the sword, andincludesthe ORIGINAL hands &, functioningpendulum!!!The gongs tone are loud, crisp, & clear. When we received this clock in 2004, it was working great and continues to work, but it has been sitting up on a shelf for several years now, so a trip to the clock doc might be warranted (SEEPHOTOS).
