Antique 1899 Red Wing Stoneware Co. 1/2 Gallon Fruit Jar

Deep dark cobalt blue under glazed lettering reads: \"STONE MASON FRUIT JAR UNION STONEWARE CO. RED WING, MINN.\"

Patent date of Jan 24, 1899 on the base. Height is 7-1/2 inches and 5-3/4 inches in diameter.

Jar has never been used. Main body color is a light creamy oatmeal. Jar has one small flaw on upper shoulder edge and one on bottom edge that were glazed over. Absolutely no cracks or hairlines. Two minute chips on mouth under cap that barely show in picture. Stencil is strong 100% and jar displays superbly.

Current Red Wing Book Value for a Red WIng 1/2 Gallon Fruit Jar is $200 - $250. Reserve is far below that as we got it 40 years ago.
