This is an original late Victorian transitional Edwardian 1900s era, quite stunning women\'s 2 piece walking suit. Wonderfully created in a rich shade of pine green with very soft wool fabric. This beautiful ensemble has been completely restored by a professional seamstress that works only antique and vintage garments. Designed in the fashionable pidgeon style which is fuller in the front and a tight waist along with a peplum skirt on the sides to the back. Multiple pin tucks on both side and delightful trim and delicate buttons (matching fabric covered with grey metal centers) that are not like anything found today; the collar is created with very thin cording in a basket weave on a natural linen background, the edges have some minimal fraying. The front trim is fancy embroidery in black, natural linen and matching green. A front hook/eye closure from the top to the bottom at the waistband. Inside is lined with soft slinky ivory satin which is the main part of the restoration; this is meticulously sewn. The skirt is a predecessor to the hobble skirt as it is not very full but will look fuller than my photos as I do not have any petticoats underneath. On one side is long double pin tucks that create pleats just above the hem. The other side is adorned with larger fabric covered buttons on the left side. In incredible condition for its age. A few very very minimal moth bites and two small stitch repairs on the front that are almost hidden. No fading. Please see all photos for details. The fabric is very sound and it easily can be worn.
