ANTIQUE 19TH C. VINE AND STRAWBERRY MOLDED MAJOLICA LEAF DISH STAND RARE COLOR
A fine antique earthenware leaf shape dish or stand with relief molded grapes, leaves, strawberries, and flowers. England - ca 1840-1880This stand measures 11\" long, 8 1/4\" wide and 1 1/2\" high. It sits on an oval base. The glaze is white with a blue tinge where it has pooled. The pattern is commonly called \"Vine and Strawberry\" and it was produced by many factories including: Wedgwood, Copeland, Davenport, and Malkin, Edge & Co. It was an extremely popular pattern and was produced with a green glaze, as well as multi-colored examples. This plain white is more uncommon. The dish is not marked, but I believe it is an early example based on the body, weight, and base.
ConditionThe dish is in excellent condition. There is a small spot on the front on the rim edge where the glaze has worn and two tiny nicks to the underside of the rim(see detail photos). No cracks, hairlines, or repairs. Guaranteed authentic, reasonable offers will be considered.
