Nice estate collection clock from Ansonia Clock Company ofNew York time and strike alarm mantel, parlor or kitchen shelf clock with an wonderful style and design in the model of Beaver. Case is still quite good with very minor age wear, although there is some discoloration on the inside base as well as some drip marks on the back side of the side carved enhancements. We also note that there is an old glue repair to the back side of the top bracing for the top piece or crown...also some misc. holes from screws on the back side as the clock was altered to hang on a wall at one point and none of which truly detracts from the display of this clock. Glass is original, old and wavy with two beautiful goddesses and floral images...in fine condition with some expected age and usage wear. Paper dial is original, with the Ansonia information at the base rim edge...we do have age yellowing as you can see in our posted photos. Carries clear black numbers and what appear to be original hands. Inside we have a brass Ansonia signed 9 & 1/4 time and strike movement with a patent date of what appears to be 1889. The movement is original, however, it has been remounted with the tips of the mounting screws now protruding a very tiny bit from the back side of the clock case. After many years in storage with the estate holders collection, when wound the clock started right up and continued to run. Accuracy was not determined. The gong strike at the hour and half hour is in working order. As with all of our estate timepieces and clocks, aprofessional cleaning is highly recommend, with required adjustments after shipment to you, for proper working accuracy. Measures in at about 22 & 1/2\" tall. A nice, not often found clock in this Ansonia pattern for your collection! Ask questions if you have them...will be carefully packed and shipped promptly upon confirmation of your payment.
