This is an exquisite purse dating from around the early 1900\'s. The inside of the frame is stamped \"Austria\" and \"Sterling\". The body is completely hand stitched with many hours of skilled handiwork. The scene in pettipoint is of a pair of leaping lions, tigers and stags. Around and in between these animals are wonderfully done flowers.
The purse is in good condition with no holes or stains. The clasp work well, the frame is strong and the chain is not damaged. The lining is in vintage condition with some rips and the inside removable mirror is somewhat cloudy. This is wonderful example of embroidery art and silver craftsmanship. It measures 4\" wide by 5\" long.
