Up for sale is an antique Georgian Bilston enamel box with an inscription reading, \"Sacred to Love\". The box is in good \"antique\" condition with a tiny nick to the top. The Periwinkle colored enamel body looks quite good. There is an old repair on the exterior bottom - the white interior enamel has usual hairline cracks and the mirror is intact. There is an old collector\'s inventory labelwith the number \"44\" on the exterior bottom and an old gallery label from D.M.&P. Manheim gallery in New York loose in the interior (the adhesive dried out).
The box measures approximately: 1-5/8\"L X 1-3/8\"W X 7/8\"H.

These were collected by the mother of theprevious owner – thus mostly purchased in the early part of the 20thcentury. Many of the pieces still carrytheir “D.M.&P. Manheim” label – for Emily (Millie), and her brothers Davidand Peter – the Manheim gallery was a very well known gallery in New York specializingin English pottery and enamels, and Millie Manheim was a highly respectedscholar and dealer in her time.
