Large and heavy sterling silver grooming or vanity set. 5 pieces, mirror, hair brush, nail file, nail buffer, and button hook. This is a massive large set. All the pieces are hand chased in a French Art Nouveau style, with acanthus leaves, trailing tassels, beads, columns, scrolls, and flowers on the ends of the pieces. Each piece has an oval medallion with decorative old English scrolls made to look like a monogram. Mirror is beveled. All pieces are marked Sterling. Nail buffer has the hallmarks of R. Blackinton, from the year 1860\'s-1870\'s, North Attleboro MA. The set needs to be polished. Together the set weighs approximately 837 grams. These are my scales and I can not guarantee they are exact, but they are not far off. No dents. No twists. No gouges or noticeable scratches. Mirror is not broken. Bristles in brush are not falling out. Mirror measures approximately 15\" in length and approximately 5\" in width. Brush measures approximately 10 1/2\" in length. Nail buffer is approximately 6 1/2\" in length. Nail file approximately 8\" and hook about 7 1/2\". The material on the nail buffer is worn off in areas, nail file has a nick, all shown in the last very enlarged photo. Very nice quality old set.
