Just acquired out of a Private Midwest estate, we are able to offer this nice quality ~ ANTIQUE CEREMONIAL TRIBAL DANCE LA MALINCHE MASK ~ Please check out the wonderful DEVIL mask we acquired from the same estate, which we just listed. We believe this mask to be Mexican in origin, and I\'m sure the collectors will know more about this old mask than we do. This is a nice early example from the 1930\'s era we would estimate. The family told us that these were from their Grandparent\'s estate. We believe that this mask is LA MALINCHE the mistress of CORTES. It is all hand carved out of wood and quite detailed. It measures 9 inches tall by just over 6 inches wide and is about 2 1/2 inches deep.The over all condition is quite nice with only some fairly minor expected wear from age and use - see pictures. This would make a fine addition to any Vintage collection.
