ANTIQUE CHINESE EXPORT SILVER LOCK PENDANT, WITH JADE + CORAL DROP BEAD DANGLES, CALLIGRAPHY CHARACTERS + BAT AND AUSPICIOUS SYMBOLS - MAKER’S HALLMARK, QING DYNASTY (?)This antique CHINESE lock pendant is of export silver, and is in the shape of an antique lock with scalloped edges and top cut-out with bar. It is highly chaste and embossed and decorated with auspicious symbols of bats, persimmons and calligraphy characters. The calligraphy characters appear to be signatures, and are different on both sides. There is a maker’s mark on the base of the top cut-out, under the bar. There are three stands of graduated jade beads, each with a coral bead at the top and knotted at the base. So as not to destroy the patina, I will leave the tarnish for the next owner. This piece is believed to be an old Qing Dynasty antique, but I am not an expert in Chinese Export Silver.
