ANTIQUE ENGLISH 9K GOLD B&F DOUBLE SIDED HEART SHAPED LOCKET PENDANT c1860:

An antique English 9 carat gold back & front double-sided locket pendant; beautifully modelled as a heart, with engraved decoration and hinging open to both sides to reveal space for photographs or other slim mementos. Both the front and the back panels of this locket are solid gold, the rest is yellow/gilded metal. Often made in this manner for strength and durability.

Good quality, very attractive & so collectable...perfect for wear on a chain too!

CONDITION: All original and very good. Slight signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Somegold wear to fittings. One glass missing.

DEFECTS: None.

DATE/MARKS: Around 1860/70. Not marked.

DIMENSIONS:23 x 20mm when closed (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.

WEIGHT: Approx. 8.3grams.
