This antique English Regency Era Sheffield Tea Urn is in repaired condition, showing minimal dings or dents, and some Copper showing through. The piece is quite heavy,and I believe ithas been weighted with lead, perhaps to keep it from falling over \"again\".The urn does have old repairs
- A tin or pewter panel added to the bottom of the base
- Old solder to one of the top pieces which has since come apart
- Lead has been poured into the interiors\' base to weight the urn
The piece currently needs repairs/restoration as well, or use it as a lamp base. The urn measures approximately 19 inches tall (48.5cm) x 14 inches wide (35.6cm) x 14 inches deep (35.6cm).
There is a section of the body, just under the lid and above the base, which has had an old repair, needs to be soldered back on. The top lid needs the rim soldered back on as well, and the otherwise round rim does have a slight bend to it at a point and would need to be made round again. Although the urn is in some disrepair, it is such an impressive piece, that it may be easy to overlook the work which needs to be done before adding it to a display. I would imagine this urn as a beautiful lamp base too, similar to those by Ralph Lauren.
