Welcome to my sale - Up for your consideration is this wonderful old Delftware hinged box or jar. Centered on the lid of this delightful piece is a mother and daughter (looks like the child is on a leash) with a boat and windmill in the background. The scene is surrounded in a relief design of pink roses and scroll work in an olive green color. The base of the box is a darker, forest green glaze with more pink roses and gilt highlights around the base. The box has brass mounts, inside lid is glazed and marked with what looks like an L or 7, inside of the bottom section is not glazed. The bottom has some impressed marks but I have not been able to make them out other than one that could be either 46 or AC or AG? Exact age of the box is unknown, believed to date to the early 1800\'s.

CONDITION - The box in fine, antique, pre-owned condition! Some normal age/use, well kept considering age, no chips or cracks in earthenware a little chipping in tin glaze, brass mounts have darkened.

SIZE - The box stands approximately 2 3/8\" tall, 3 1/2\" wide.
