Fabulousestate collection clock and matching candelabra garniture set...gorgeous Art Nouveau era ormolu side accents along with the urn top help to create a stunning set. Based on the medallion signature on the brass movement plate, we can date this clock from 1855 to 1870, at which time Vincenti\'s production ceased. Veined green onyx marble and slate case. Case integrity is excellent...bezel door opens and closes nicely...stays closed properly but is missing the approximate 4\" glass dial cover. Porcelain dial has clear original numbers and gothic hands. Dial is inscribed in black with \"A (Abbey?) St. Michael, 4 Rue Ste. Catherine, Bordeaux\". St. Michael is a flamboyant Gothic church built between the 14th and 16th centuries with the separate bell tower constructed in the 15th century. A cemetery and catacombs have been discovered under the bell tower. The basilica pulpit represents St. Michael slaying the dragon with the church listed as a Historical Monument. During WWII, the cathedral stained glass windows were destroyed during bombardment. The clock survives with only minor nicks and age wear to the slate or onyx. Dial is in fine condition. Back side of the case has a tin openwork movement cover...opens to reveal a signed Medalle De\'Argent Vincenti signed and numbered round brass movement with two sets of numbers...a 4 and a 5 at the base and 6612 as a possible serial number at the upper left. The medallion signature is double struck and hard to read, but we can make out the year of 1855 along with parts of the Vincenti name. After many years in storage with the estate collection wound for both arbors, the clock is not currently in working order. We found the winding arbors on both the left and the right wound with the clock running for no more than 1 minute or so before stopping. Bell strike function for half hour and hour seems to be in fine working order. The pendulum is in place and appears original to the clock. Aswith all of our estate timepieces and clocks, aprofessional cleaning is highly recommend, with required adjustments after shipment to you for proper working order and accuracy. It is paired with a set of matching green onyx and slate garniture candelabras...each with 4 candle holders...both in very good condition. Outstanding addition to your projects, display, collection or decor! Measures in at about 15\" tall.Ask questions if you have them...will be carefully packed and shipped promptly upon confirmation of your payment.
