A lovely antique Georgian English, solid sterling silver (fully hallmarked) pair cased verge fusee pocket watch, no. 8650 by T Danby of London. With fully matching hallmarked cases, white porcelain dial with Arabic numerals and ornate gold hands (perfect condition - no chips, cracks, hairlines etc), wonderfully ornate movement cover and the outer case containing a number of repair labels of the period. Its movement is missingits balance spring & cover and the inner case is missing its hinge pin but the watch appears to be otherwise complete including its fusee chain, sowill either be a collection piece, a fixerfor a hobbyist or jeweller, or an ideal source of high quality, genuine period parts.It\'s hallmarked Birmingham 1799 and is invery good condition with tarnish and light denting to the case but nearperfect dial. It weighs120grams and its case diameter is2 Ã‚Â¼inches. The final photo shows it with a US penny (1 cent) coinfor scale, which measures19mm/ Ã‚Â¾ of an inchdiameter.
