A pretty Georgian tea caddy in very good condition say 9 out of 10 with no damage. Externally mahogany with box wood corners and wood inlaid central panel and inlaid ovals to the front & lid top all original to the box, circa 1800 / 1810. The panels are inlaid with graded woods and seemingly represent feathers arranged in a circle. There has been some very minor early restoration to a couple small bits of boxwood corner edging (upon close examination), and the box has a relatively good polish to its outside surfaces. It has its key working well in the lock. Internally it has a marbled paper lining within the lid, and the two tea compartments have two little lids with early diddy brass handles, the lids are floating, being the type that sat on top of the tea and went down in the tea wells as the tea went down. The two tea compartment interiors have the remains of an early paper lining material fitted around 1890 by the looks of it. The box is in lovely condition, has had a coat of wax polish and as such is very presentable. Measuring approx 7 1/2 x 4 x 4 5/8 inches high.
