This lovely Antique Georgian gold mourning bracelet
is inscribed with to Anne to Caroline

Mourning jewellery mirrored the lives and times of the people who wore it.
It was a souvenir to remember a loved one, a reminder to the living of the
inevitability of death, a status symbol, specially during the Victorian Era.
Mourning Jewellery has been worn from the middle ages up until the Victorian era.
Mourning jewellery consists of formulaic rings made of gold and black enamel
and decorated with standard memento mori such as skulls and coffins.

Set with 18ct yellow gold ends which has turned a rosy colour with age.
Beautifully plaited hair that has keep in such good order over the 200 years

weighs 3.91 grams
