For sale is this lovely hand embroidered coat of arms or family crest. This is difficult to date, but this is definitely antique- 19th Century or earlier. It is charming with a variety of gold and colored threads, with a burgundy velvet and white silk, and a charming bat at the top. This may have been the work of a young lady. These are true metallic threads framing the edges, and you can see the metal links to the edging under close inspection. A lovely piece for your rare embroidery collection. This has been professionally framed in Beverly Hills, and the frame measures 12\" x 15\" and the crest measures 8.2\" x 11.5\". I have the companion piece from the same estate for sale.
