ANTIQUE KEYSTONE MONARCH STEREOSCOPE STEREOCARD 3D VIEWER - RARE!

This Stereoscopic Viewer made by Keystone View Co. Pat'd Apr. 12,1904 is one of the early versions and is the most sought after antique stereoscope. Everything on this unit is tight and functions as it should. The hand engraved tin viewer features a stamped Monarch Elk (eight or more points) Logo and a floral engraved vine design surrounding the tinwork viewer. The tin veiwing box is lined around the edges with a brown fabric that mimics leather where it touches the face. Both lenses are intact and housed in a beautifully crafted mahogany wood facia and the mahogany wood photo slide and photo holders are intact and working properly. The mahogany wood fold-down handle works perfectly. Some wear is evident on the piece, especially the fabric liner, as would be expected considering its age. What a wonderful working conversation piece for a collector.

Founded in 1892 it quickly became a force in the stereographic industry and by 1905 it was the world's largest stereographic company.Eventually purchasing Underwood & Underwood, their main competition who sold most of its stereoscopic library to Keystone.
