This beautiful leather bound book measures 5.5\"x 3.5\".Ref. this publication online article \'NY Times\' review November 23, 1863.Publisher Frank H. Dodd, NY, released the first of a series of select works by favorite authors.John Milton\'s \'Paradise Lost\', 12 books,was the first of this series.John Milton was a 17th century English poet and \'Paradise Lost\' is considered his \'major work\'.The Keightley\'s Library series edition was the model for this publication.It is reviewed \"as carefully edited, the paper is pleasantly tinted, and of a superior quality\".The book has gold leaf edge paper and gold leaf design on the outside and inside edges of the book cover.The outside condition has some light wear (see photos). I can provide more if requested.The front and back cover has some separation at the crease in the paper on the inside (see photos).Otherwise the leather cover is secure.The pages are very tight and it appears it was never read. No damage to the pages (that\'s assuming that the tint of the pages are original color).The book was probably given as a Holiday gift to Eugenia Cox.I have searched the internet and past sales for a copy of this book but have not been able to find any.If you need any other information or photos I\'ll do my best to meet your request.Payment must be made within 48 hours of purchase.
