THIS sale IS FORAN ANTIQUE MAP TITLED \"NEW YORK IN 1674 EXPLANATION .......\"

THE FRAME IS APPROXIMATELY 20 INCHES BY 27.5 INCHES IN SIZE. THE VISIBLE PART OF THE MAP IN THE FRAME IS 15 INCHES BY 18 INCHES.

Remnants of stickers on the frame glass,otherwise A very clean item with lovely illustrations. Hand colored presumably from the early 20th century.

We did some research on internet and noticed two things: this map has a handcolored decorated border when the other maps do not have it, and the other maps have a name at the bottom right corner which this map does not have.

It is a lovely map of New York showing the city as appeared in 1674 with a nice cartouche at the upper left corner. The map has the style of Braun & Hogenberg maps.

We repeat it again: this map is presumably from the early 1900\'s.
