Ca.1810 Marcolini Period - Roses & Forget-me-Not\'s

This listing is for a veryspecialantique Meissen Macolini period (ca. 1810) teapot. This piece makes forawonderful Valentine\'s gift, the teapot is insribed to form the sentence\"Wandle auf(Rosen) und (Vergissmeinnicht)\" which is German and translates as \"walkon roses and forget-me-not\". It is decorated withunderglaze cobalt blue band with heavy gilding and decorated withsuperb florals; roses and forget-me-nots. I love the clasical empirestyle handle and the thick molded relief garland band at the base ofthe spout and the finial that are patinated to looklike gilded bronze. Certainly one of the finest historic Meissenteapots that I have seen!There is slight wear/loss of the gilding. Also there is a tiny shorthairline in the end of the spout which is very hard to see andcertainly not detracting (see last two close-up pictures). Apart fromthatthis teapot is perfect with no other cracks or hairlines, no chips andno repair/restoration. The base is marked with the underglaze Meissencrossed swords and star mark (first quality, no scratches through the mark).

This teapot measures 4-3/4\"high (12 cm) and 7-1/4\" long (18,5 cm handle to spout).

Please excuse any glares (whitepatches) that you may see in the pictures, these are caused byreflections of light on the glaze and are not on the actual objectitself.
