ANTIQUE NORWEGIAN ROSEMALING BENTWOOD TINE BOX. 19th CENTURY. SUPERB.:
$148.29

A really beautiful example of an antique Norwegian tine box made from bentwood and covered in traditional hand painted rosemaling decoration. Husfliden traditionally means handicrafts that are made in the home - they are often then sold by the community. The rough translation of this inscription is that it is the work of the community craft makers.

These boxes were originally for carrying food in and come in all sizes. The design of the ends came from the styalised heads of horses.
