Fantastic and early pair of superbly enameled 1880ish cranberry / ruby red based. The expert enameling is indicative of an early manufacture possibly by Mary Gregory herself. The piling of the enamel makes it appear that this is a pate-sur-pâté piece of glass and is handsome indeed. The Red color has always been exotic in glass because to get the ruby red color actual gold has to be added to the glass.
This pair is in superb condition as well with no damage to report. Very very rare these days to find a matching pair with no damage. Stands 13\" tall and about 5\" in girth.
