Up for sale is this beautiful cased pair of antique Edward vom Hofe early model 481 \"Celebrated Stripped Bass and Tarpon Reel\" later know as the \"Pasque\" in the 4/0 size. This is a rare find as I cannot find another pair of cased vom Hofe reels. The pair come in a beautiful leather carrying case with the owners information written on the bottom \"A F Derr Wilkes Barre IN\". The leather case is in over all good condition with drying and damage (including loss of the end) to the buckle strap. The set is interesting as the reels are the same model and size but have different handle configurations and one reel has a click component and the other does not. The reels appear to be early versions of the 481 4/0 reel as they are only stamped with the size (4/0) on the base and feature the 1883 patent date on the side of the reel. Later reels of this model were stamped with the model number on the base and later versions had newer patent dates. Both reels appear to be in good condition with some green residue on the metal but most importantly NO cracks or loss to the plastic. The set of reels is fresh from an antique estate, I have not tried to clean the reels in any way. Each reel measures about 3&7/8\" across. The reels are marked \"EDW vom Hofe Maker Fulton St NY\" with a 4/0 where the reel would attach to the rod. Please ask any questions you may have as this is not my area of expertise.
