Being offered is an exceptional pair of antique pewter low bowls with detailed repousse cornucopia designs and rolled scalloped rims. This pair measures 8\" in diameter, 1 1/8\" tall at the rim and together weigh 1 lb 11 oz. One of the pair is marked three times \"D DACKERMANN\" with a winged blind justice and standing stag mark. The unmarked bowl has significant wear from use while the marked one is in better condition with minor handling wear and a small dent in the bowl (see picture 10). The pair appear to made by the same hand and though \"D. Dakermann\" is not listed there are a few examples of his work online. Given the types of fruit and nuts in the cornucopia design the maker is likely American or English working in the early 19th century. These bowls are unusual with the amount and complexity of decoration and are a rare survival that display well.
