This antique platinum and diamond Art Deco Gruen wristwatch was recently purchased in Miami Beach FL at an estate sale. With the diamond cover in the down position the watch looks like a diamond bracelet. The diamond cover will spring open when you press down on the diamond lock next to the 6:00 marker.This vintage wristwatch is in EXCELLENT CONDITION and it keeps VERY GOOD time.The glass crystal is in EXCELLENT CONDITION (no scratches chips or marks). The silver dial is marked “GRUEN PRECISION SWITZERLAND”.What looks like a second hand in center of the dial is actually a scratch.The movement is marked “GRUEN PRECISION WATCH 17 JEWELS SWITZERLAND”.The back of the case is marked PLATINUM. The markings on the platinum band are worn off, I had it tested by an electronic X-Ray spectrometer analyzer to be platinum “GUARANTEED”.There is a total of 146 single cut diamonds, 16 round brilliant cut diamonds and 18 baguette cut diamonds. All 180 diamonds are VERY WHITE (F to H color) and EYE CLEAN (VS2 to SI2 clarity). The diamonds are securely set and weigh approximately 4.78 carats total weight. The watch case measures 16.1 mm wide (without the crown) and the band measures 9.6 mm wide.The watch measures 7” long and weighs 40.2 grams.The diamond clasp on the platinum band works perfect, it opens and snaps shut.Any dark or light areas you see on the watch or on any of the diamonds are reflections from my camera or the watch itself.Please look at my response for CREDIBILITY and offerDING CONFIDENCE.
