This is a unique, beautiful and favorite 7 piece quadruple plate silver coffee and tea service by made by the Derby Silver Co. of Derby Connecticut. Each piece is signed. This is a complete set and each piece has a designed scene of something a little different from every other piece. The tray measures about 23 and 1/2 inches from end of handle to end of handle. The width is about 13 inches and the shape helps make this tray so unusual. Each side is duplicated with design, a heron, bamboo stock and leaves, fans, and a pot of flowers in the center. The 3 pots have a bird 12\" tall, a swan 11\" tall and a sailing boat on water with a man inside 12 and 12\" tall. One photo shows the feet on all the pieces up close. The sugar bowl has a booklet with a tasstle in the corner. The waste or spoon holder bowl is gold lined and has a sailing ship on water near a castle. The creamer is also gold lined and has a Chinese lady with a fan and an umbrella for a highlight. The creamer and sugar are about 7\" tall, the spoon holder is about 5 and 3/8\" tall. The common tread in all pieces is the bamboo with other types of plants on some pieces. The initial \"B\" is engraved on each piece but, that did not influence my appreciation of this antique and very unusual silver plated set when it found me about 40 years ago. This is a most exceptional service from all the sets I have seen over the years. It is a favorite. Made in America with the popular Chinese influence at the time it was made. The photo of the tray is a little dark to take away the reflection. Some of the green coloring is from the plants in the surrounding area of the photos.The entire set is in excellent condition. The spoon holder shows where a few spoons have landed inside when placed. The tray has the normal slide of the 6 pieces when they were placed on the tray over the years. Every part of these pieces are charming and the Derby Company designed and exacuted these pieces to perfection. See
