ANTIQUESARYK (Sarik, Sariq, Saryq)TURKOMAN YURT ENSI, Central Asian Tribal, Southern Turkmenistan, Pendeh region,lastquarter of the 19th century, and coming inquite good overall condition for the collector. The exact size is: 4\'-4\" x 5\'-10\" (150 x 241cm).Symmetrically knotted on natural ivory wool warps and natural brown wool wefts. The dyes are 100% natural and derived from plant sources. All of the designs in white are knotted with ivory cotton (see close up photo 10) and theweaving is laced throughout with 100\'s of small areas of magenta red silk highlights. The top and bottom endings are original and complete with the flat-weave end finishes now sewn secure to prevent any future loss of structure (see photo 11).The side cord over-castings are original and complete. This old weaving has very good allover pile condition (see photo 12) withtwolower pile areas located inthe bottom elem panel area, consummate with the rug being used in the past as a prayer rug (see photo 9).This weaving has been professionally cleaned and is collection ready.If illuminated by direct lighting when displayed as a wall hanging, the color palette, with itslavish use of silk and cotton, really comes to life.
