Up for sale I have an Antique oil on canvas landscape painting by: GUSTAV HOFMANN. This is signed in two places: on the front lower left corner as well as on the back of the canvas which reads: SKEGOMOC POINT, MICHIGAN -1907- GUSTAV HOFMANN. This hand stretched oil on canvas painting is 15\" x 10\" and is framed in an original gilded gesso frame that is 18\" x 13\". This painting is of a wooded stream or river with a canoe in the foreground. Condition of the canvas is good overall there is some normal crazing and a small short tear with some paint loss where the canvas meets the edge of the wooden frame in back. The gesso frame is in good shape with some paint loss on the edges and corners - no major losses to the decorative areas like you see on a lot of old frames. This could use a good cleaning. This would be a great addition to somepersons cabin! Good luck
