FANTASTIC, ORIGINAL VINTAGE MANUSCRIPT ACCOUNT BOOK FROM AN UPSTATE NEW YORK SODA BOTTLER. This uncommon early volume dates from 1912-1923 and was kept by Wm. Blanchfield of Salem in Washington County, New York. Company was a \"bottler of high grade carbonated drinks\" and did business with numerous customers throughout Eastern central New York and southEastern Vermont. Fabulous handwritten volume invokes a bygone era when soda was bottled, sold, and delivered by small independent companies operating locally. Soda was customarily delivered to both residences and businesses, as is evident here. Original billhead receipts laid-in reveal Wm. Blanchfield\'s product line which consisted of Os-a-ma Ginger Ale, Orange Phosphate, Lemon Sour, Birch Beer, Sarsparilla, Root Beer, Chocolate, Os-a-ma Vichy Spring Water, Strawberry, Grapette, Champagne Cider, etc. Soda was sold in pints, quarts, and cases, and company also sold cylinders used in the old soda fountain process. Names of numerous customers, individuals and businesses alike, can be found throughout making for a treasure trove of local genealogy. Company\'s territory consisted of Eastern central New York and southEastern Vermont, with the principal customer base being located in the Washington County, NY and Bennington County, VT area. New York communities mentioned here by name include Cambridge, Greenwich, Hampton, Argyle, Granville, Shushan, West Hebron, Belcher, Eagle Bridge, and Mechanicville, while Vermont communities mentioned include Shaftsbury, South Shaftsbury, Pownal, West Pawlet, Bennington, North Bennington, Arlington, and East Arlington.
