Dating to the 19th c ....Etched DORA on the smooth metal, the dog\'s name. This is a collar for a larger sized dog . Figural metal tiles with raised dog heads. Links at the edges joining them together, several have been replaced. Adjustable front with a loop, would have had a lock closing. Note that several times are not dog heads , could have been increased for a larger dog....they match the dog heads, same metal and age. The leather inside has seen two breaks that were wired together. Strong and useable but I would recommend rewiring the repairs as the inner edge has the wire points....would be uncomfortable for the dog. Could be worn on a human as well....a most unique piece !!! Measures 1.5 inches in width and 20.5 to 23 inches around the neck, depending on which hole is used .
